In any situation which you may be called upon to face, you can safely and patiently wait for divine Love's guidance. This is so because the patient waiter is the one who remains in readiness to accept all the love which divine Love is able and willing to bestow upon him to enable him to share good with to others.

It is this thought of remaining ready which Webster uses as one of the definitions of the word wait; and it is defined as "to stay or remain in readiness for action."

Because of your individual, God-created nature, you can stay and remain in readiness--that is, awaiting--the active acceptance of all that divine Love has for you. In fact, you could say that your prayer is the calm, assured awareness of your ability to stay and remain ready to accept all the love which divine Love is ever bestowing upon you to share with others.

Then the prayer of patient waiting is not maintaining a false sense of humility so that at some future time one can accept God's love; but rather, our prayer of patient waiting is the active expectancy of God's abundant love right now. In this awareness of God's great love, you can joyously share your selfless love with others. Seize the Day by W. Norman Cooper
