How can our beloved nation solve its many, present-day problems, including the threat of war and war itself? Economic and other changes may be necessary, but these changes of themselves will not exalt our nation above its problems. The one permanent solution will be found in soul-searching prayer--in the absolute certainty that the divine Will for all must eventually be expressed.

The solution is found in the recognition that it is the divine right for each of us to express "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." Any nation whose people express such righteousness will be exalted above its problems. In the Bible are found these words: "Righteousness exalteth a nation." Another translation renders the passage this way: "Only righteousness exalts a nation."

Righteousness of thought and action recognizes the right of all --in our country and in all other countries--to have "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." Only with this recognition will our nation rise above its problems. --W. Norman Cooper, Seize The Day
