How do I submit content? To submit content you need to login first, then press the submit content link at the right. This will take you to a screen that requires a title for the posting, categories (free form tags that will help people search for the item you post) and a prose section that describes or introduces your posting - modest use of html is allowed - see below. What conditions/limitations are there on submitting media? You need to check the contributor terms box and then upload the content using the "Attach Media" section. Format requirements are as follows:
What if I want to contribute media regularly? If your content is an ongoing program you can create a program page and submit content under that program. Press the Submit Program Idea link in the right hand column of the homepage. This takes you to the page where you provide the program name, sponsoring organization if there is one, and the description of the program (simple html allowed in this section). If your content is already in RSS format, see "What are feeds?" below. Will my submitted content automatically be displayed? After your content or program idea is submitted it will enter the approval queue, where editors approve the submission. You will get an email regarding the approval, and if there are questions or problems editors will email you directly for clarification. Programs can be set for preapproval, so that content you submit for such a program will automatically be displayed, but this status is not automatically set. What are feeds and how are they used?If your content is already being published in an RSS feed, you don't have to go through the trouble of copying it over manually. You can have new content from your feed added to the site automatically. Once you have an approved program, you can add an RSS feed to the program. This is this is done by clicking "Add a feed to this program" at the bottom of the manage program page. This will take you to a page where you can provide the feed URL and a short description of it. Once you have added a feed to your program, it will be listed at the bottom of the manage program page. Clicking on the link there allows you to see the feed details, as well as preview what an item from your feed will look like once it's added to our SpeakingTruth. Once your feed is approved, recent feed items will periodically be taken from your feed and added to SpeakingTruth. |
